The Southwest Sprinters Track Club had an outstanding indoor season within the Masters program and now look to head to the prestigious Penn Relays on April 24, 2010. In tracking their performances from this year's World Masters Championships in Kamloops, Canada, where they brought home gold medals in the 4x200m relay (David Jones, Don Drummond, Marcus Shute, Robert Thomas); 60m dash (Reggie Pendland); 60m hurdles (Don Drummond) and the 200m dash (Robert Thomas)for the M40-45 age group, to their record-breaking achievement at the USA Masters Indoor Championships in Boston, Massachusetts in the M40-49 4X400m relay, it seems the team has managed to leave their competition way behind.

There will be a USATF Level 1 Coaching School, January 29-31, 2010 at the Hockaday School in Dallas. Instructors include Apryl Hamption and Dr. Robert Vaughn from the Southwestern Association and Matt Lydum from Defiance College. The Southwestern Association has rescheduled it's annual meeting for September 26th from 11AM - 1PM.  The meeting will still be held at the Center for Community Cooperation - http://www.cccdfw.org/

The 2009 Association Annual Meeting, originaly scheduled for September 12th, has been temporarily postponed.  We will have a new date and time in a few days will announce that information when available.
