The Southwest Sprinters Track Club had an outstanding indoor season within the Masters program and now look to head to the prestigious Penn Relays on April 24, 2010. In tracking their performances from this year's World Masters Championships in Kamloops, Canada, where they brought home gold medals in the 4x200m relay (David Jones, Don Drummond, Marcus Shute, Robert Thomas); 60m dash (Reggie Pendland); 60m hurdles (Don Drummond) and the 200m dash (Robert Thomas)for the M40-45 age group, to their record-breaking achievement at the USA Masters Indoor Championships in Boston, Massachusetts in the M40-49 4X400m relay, it seems the team has managed to leave their competition way behind.

There will be a USATF Level 1 Coaching School, January 29-31, 2010 at the Hockaday School in Dallas. Instructors include Apryl Hamption and Dr. Robert Vaughn from the Southwestern Association and Matt Lydum from Defiance College. There are also 3 Tuition Scholoarships available from the Southwestern Association to attend the school. For more details, including registration information and the scholarship application.
